start with close micking using your 58's.
learn to use them well, and hear for yourself what your missing. it's a good microphone, and numbers don't come before ear.
$50 will buy you a geart guitar stand and a harmonica.

both more usefull IMHO than a $50 condensor if you don't have them yet..
