I would add translation exercises. take a text and translate it on a piece of paper, either en->heb (easier) or heb->en at a more advanced stage.
it helped me alot with Dutch.

if you feel comfortable doing it, I would open it up and look at the electronics.

do you have access to a dB SPL meter?
then you would have a realistic reference (although not perfect).
